In 2020, Bermuda became the first nation to have a holiday named after a Black woman, honouring the global contributions of Bermudian author and abolitionist Mary Prince. The decision to celebrate her in this way so inspired us, that we imagined the day when our Bermuda currency features her image, cementing in residents and visitors a full awareness of her incredible life and legacy.
